What is Train to Gain?

Train to Gain is a national government initiative to help employers support the development of their employees. We offer nationally recognised NVQ qualifications FREE at level 2 and Level 3 in a range of sectors, as well as English, Maths and ESOL.

Train to Gain NVQ's take on average 20 to 50 hours spread over a number of months to complete depending on the qualification and prior knowledge level.


Am I eligible?

You will need to show you have lived in the European Union for 3 years, and;

1) Employees of Companies with less than 250 staff:

If you work for a company of less than 250 staff, you will be eligible for a FREE course whatever qualifications you already have.

2) Employees of Companies with more than 250 staff:

If you work for a company with more than 250 staff you are eligible only if
you do not already have a full L2 qualification, meaning 5 GCSEs at Grade A – C, A levels or a degree.

3) Volunteers: You may also be eligible if you are not working but are already volunteering in a company.


Workplace Assessment

You will complete your training through workplace assessment by showing the
impact your training has had on your job.

You can do Childcare at our partner organisation Bromley By Bow Centre.

You can also do units of qualifications if you do not need to upskill in all areas of the certificate.
