About Digital Media Production
Our media course is a skills based introduction to the media industry. The course is designed to explore the fundamentals of the digital media. It focuses on developing creative skills through project based tasks, as well as completing theory units that will give you insight into the working in the media industry.
You will learn Graphic Design, Video Production, Photography, Music/Audio Production and Game Design basics. You will be taught be experienced teachers, and we also support you with employability, including opportunities to speak to professionals and access mentoring, volunteering and work experience.
Career Potential
Media is one of the UK's growth industries, as smart technologies allow for the expansion of the media markets. By 2022, due to the use of media on smartphones, tablets and wearables, it's estimated that the digital media market will be worth £76 billion. Understanding digital media is the key to securing skills for the future.
Once qualified, you could earn a starting salary of £16,000 rising to £50,000 with experience.

- Website software: develop your website using Wix.com, allowing you to create HTML5 websites and mobile sites through the use of online drag and drop tools
- Bespoke software: digital design using Foyr to build high-quality, true-to-scale, 2D and 3D interactive floor plans
- Specialist software: 3D printing with MakerBot optimizes and streamlines the 3D printing process for any workflow, allowing you to discover, prepare, manage, and share 3D prints
- Imaging software: Photopea is a web-based photo & graphics editor which can work with raster and vector graphics. Use it for image editing, making illustrations, web design or converting between different image formats - and more!
- Desktop publishing software: create newsletters and other documentation using Lucid Press and Vivid Designer
- 3D drawing and planning software: using Third.design and Krita to create 3D drawings and plans
- 3D animation software: create animations that are sleek and fun using Piskel and Animaker, enabling you to create animated videos using pre-built characters and templates
- Presentation software: use Keynote and PowerPoint to create powerful, dynamic presentations with rich media capabilities

Which units will I study for my course?
All our courses have one or more mandatory units and a choice of additional units.
Course content is tailored for you (and your employer) and the list of units outlined here are a guide only. Units covered will also depend on your prior learning and credit requirement. If there is something specific that you are interested in learning, please discuss this with your tutor during induction.
What if I don't have the entry requirements for a course?
There are other courses available to help you build up the skills and qualifications you need to be eligible for our courses. Please get in touch to discuss this further!
Which level can I study?
During your appointment assessment, we will help you work out which course will be the most suitable for you based on your results, previous experiences and interests.
Will my course cost?
Course tuition fees
As a charity, ELATT works tirelessly to access a range of funding and donations to keep our courses free.
In 2021-2022 we had 900 students in total, and none had to pay fees. That means 100% got a free course!
If you are over 19, not all our Level 3 qualifications are fully funded, so you might have to take out a student loan to do a Level 3 course. If that's the case for your Level 3 course, we'll let you know as soon as you apply.
We also can't train you if you are on a Student Visa, Visitor's Visa or Temporary Stay, or are an Overseas Student.
Each year we support hundreds of different people from all walks of life, of all backgrounds, ages, circumstances and skills levels. There's a really good chance that you can get a free course at ELATT, so apply now!
