Our Enrichment Programme

“Lessons are not only extremely effective in improving learners’ knowledge and skills but are also filled with humour and laughter.”

Ofsted, 2015 (Outstanding)

New for 2019:

  • Students studying media will have the opportunity to develop software for a social enterprise project with Facebook and SoapBox.
  • Our Computer Engineering students will have the opportunity to work with robotics, AI and machine learning
  • Our Software Development students will be working with Scratch and Minecraft, as well as developing mobile apps.

How it works...

To prepare our students with the skills needed to thrive in tomorrow’s hi-tech workforce, we offer a transformative enrichment programme to support social interaction, community engagement and employability:

Study activities

Outside of formal class times there are extra-curricular activities including journalism, documentary film making, virtual and augmented reality projects, music production and community leadership projects with Citizens UK.

Work experience

Our network of industry partners comprises highly successful businesses who are serious about supporting our students and support over 120 students each year. Through work experience visits to leading international companies such as Opus II International, Sopra Steria, UBS and Wellington Wealth Management, students begin to understand the career options available to them and gain confidence through meeting and working with industry professionals.

The enrichment programme

Students have visited exhibitions at Tate Modern, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Excel Centre, amongst many more, where students are able to broaden their minds to the creative and professional opportunities ahead of them and the skills they need to succeed.

All our students are invited to attend at least two activities a term and they are encouraged to organise events and clubs themselves.
