About this Project
Tots and Toddlers Book Clubs are for parents in London who want to improve their confidence with reading to their children in English. The clubs are informal workshops for families with children aged 0-4 involving the books, song and rhyme. Your children will develop their language, learning and social skills through stories, song, rhyme and peer interaction. They will develop a love of reading, which will have a long-term impact on their educational outcomes.
Tots and Toddlers is hosted at a children’s centre, and consists of 2 x2 hour sessions each week for 16-20 weeks.
Tots and Toddlers was designed in consultation with childcare professionals from our partner children’s centres and is delivered by our friendly teaching professionals, childcare specialists and supported by volunteer teaching assistants.
The sessions follow National Literacy Trust guidelines on storytelling with children. They will include relaxation and focusing techniques to prepare your children for reading.
You'll have the opportunity to practice paired reading and songs, stories and rhyme activities for you and your children.
