Charity Day for the 'Ruth Hayman Trust'

By Jolanta

On 15 - 06 – 2016, my college ''Elatt'' did a charity day for 'Ruth Hayman Trust'. On this day it did not rain, but was very windy. Especially on this day, I put on a black dress. I came at 11 o'clock and brought an electric oven. Other classmates came at 1pm and brought books, toys, clothes, cakes and brioches. We all together went in street selling cakes and brioches. We had a fun day and we laughed.

The thing that surprised me about London is that there are so many people here from different countries and backgrounds. I have met so many different people. Here in London people queue very politely and wait a long time, in other countries people are not so polite.

London Fields Park

London Fields Park

I am writing about London Fields Park.

I visited this place many times. I like this area because you can see so many things. This place is near the Broadway market.

I came with my family in this park. We're enjoying the park, my little daughter loves playing football with my son. I love watching my children having fun.

Last time, I went there two months ago.

International Women's Day

International Women's Day

On Thursday 10th March 2016 students of the course ESOL E2 Speaking and Listening class and their tutor Debora Sinclair Murray visited the organisation SimpleGifts: Unitarian Centre for Social Action in Bethnal Green.

This organisation runs community programmes from Bethnal Green, East London premises. Her programmes - including After School Club, New Neighbours/Old Neighbours Lunch, and ESOL classes - are all run by a team of dedicated volunteers.

On that day the volunteers organised activities to make this day more special for all women of the E2 class. Some wanted to have make up, some only facial massage, some a manicure and some a Henna painting. Henna has been used for centuries to adorn young women's bodies as part of social and holiday celebrations:

ELATT renews Gold with 'Investors in People'

Our staff and trustees were delighted to renew our Investors in People accreditation at Gold level, the highest level achievable within the framework. Although 16% of all UK-based organisations are accredited through the IiP programme, only fewer than 5% of IiP accredited organisations received Gold - a fantastic tribute to the leadership, commitment and values that run throughout our organisation's students, volunteers, staff and trustees.
